THIS is a meeting designed to update GPs and Practice Managers on the progress we have made in our inaugural year to bring about a positive impact on patient care and the way in which we all work.
It will also give you all the chance to have your say on how we build on this platform, as key issues for all of us start to emerge.
There are two main areas of focus:
- Diabetes – we will update you on progress regarding the move to a single contract and discussions with primary care about the changes that this will mean to the current level 2 contracts from April this year. We will share the current proposal with you on the evening and discuss some key principles of how the new contract will look. We look forward to taking on board your feedback on this.
- Extended Hours provision – assuming the Council of Reps supports the CCGs’ desire to commission BCA to manage the delivery of the new extended hours arrangements that need to be delivered, then we will hold an initial discussion with you about what this means to us as providers. It will also be an opportunity for you to put forward your thoughts and suggestions on how best to deliver these services.
This is clearly an important meeting for all members to attend, and be engaged in the heart of the decision-making process – especially if you are an existing level 2 provider.
It would be most helpful if you would email Marie.Stout@bradford.nhs.uk with the names of those from your practice who will be attending. Please note the meeting is open to both GPs and Practice Managers and is limited to two representatives per practice.
Thank you.  We look forward to seeing you all between 6pm and 8.30pm on Wednesday, January 18 at Douglas Mill. Curry served at 6pm and refreshments will be provided.
