AS Bradford Care Alliance is now a fully contract-holding organisation, we are pleased to update you that we are now fully registered with both the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and the Care Quality Commission (CQC). These represent the latest developments in what has been a busy 12 months of organisational development for us.

Twelve months ago, Bradford Care Alliance was a newly-formed Community Interest Company (CIC) with the vast majority of General Practices across Bradford being its members.Since then, we have registered as a CIC Limited Company; is now registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC); has registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO); has insurances in place to protect the company, its directors and its members.

Importantly, we have developed an organisational structure to provide probity and assurance for its members, commissioners, partners and regulators.

Supporting this we have an intranet and a brand, website www.bradfordcarealliance.org and a Twitter presence. You can follow us @BradfordCareCIC.

At the same time, we have been working on the diabetes service as part of the Bradford Provider Alliance. This has established the relationships and coherence required across the system to build this ground-breaking partnership.

We have done extensive legal work to get an Alliance contract that binds commissioners and providers on the journey to accountable care and a Memorandum of Understanding for the Provider Alliance.

So, all in all, it has been a busy twelve months with another twelve months to follow! We expect momentum to grow as our ability to deliver is demonstrated to commissioners and partners alike, and BCA becomes a central part of the commissioning and delivery strategy for our patients.

We also have insurance in place for Medical Indemnity, and Directors and Officers. We also have office insurance, in preparation for moving into some free space at Douglas Mill. This will give us a stronger base, where the Board and Management team can get together on a more regular basis and our members can come and say hello when they are over!

Over and above this protection, we have also worked hard over our first 12 months to build and develop an organisational structure which will provide probity and assurance for its members.

We will be adding profiles for our two new Board members, Catherine Dymond and Dr Himat Thandi, to our website over the next few weeks and are delighted to once again be a full Board.
