A KEY theme in our latest e-bulletin is Extended Access as the countdown to the first wave of our colleagues going live gathers pace. This, as well as the recent successful signing of the 10-year diabetes contract with Bradford CCGs, propels us into an exciting new era of care. Your role in the development and delivery of these initiatives will be pivotal to their future success.

Chairmans overview and update:

Dear colleague

As I write this, we are poised to embark on another key phase of change within the local health economy, as the first wave of Extended Access starts for us on June 1.

This will provide extended core GP services to 25% of the Bradford population. And by this time next year, we will be ramping up our plans and delivery of Wave 2, which will see Extended Access available to every patient in Bradford.

You can read more about Extended Access elsewhere in this bulletin, as well as access a Q&A briefing on this key programme.

I am proud to say your team here at Bradford Care Alliance have delivered you an organisation with the required infrastructure to sign the 10-year diabetes contract with both Bradford CCGs.

The steps required to achieve this are significant – and we have a great team who applied themselves to it.

Again, you can find out more information on what this will mean for you elsewhere in this bulletin.

Dr Himat Thandi

Im also delighted to share the news that Dr Himat Thandi has now formally joined our team.

He was elected to the vacant Directors post from April.

Himat is already getting stuck into the Out of Hospital programme alongside Nick and I.

So, as you will see elsewhere in this newsletter, there is lots going on and I am keen that we continue to involve all our members in the development and delivery of these services.

Thanks also to the Extended Access project group, who have really worked hard to pull the proposals together and make them a success for our patients.

Ish reported that the Peoples Board at the CCGs welcomed the approach BCA presented.

Your engagement in these projects is key to our future success.

Soon youll be hearing about the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for all Shareholders date and time to follow in the next few weeks.

Thanks again
Richard Haddad
Chairman
